Financial Development Director
Reports To: Executive Director
Location: Carneys Point, NJ
Work Schedule: 35 hours per week, 8:30am-4pm
Primary Function: Serves as the main special event fundraising coordinator for the Chapter. Manages website and the Chapter’s social networking. Maintains chapter donation records and prepares thank you letters. Provides assistance to the Executive Director as needed.
Responsibilities:
1. Pay dues to National Headquarters monthly and maintain payment schedule.
2. Plan and direct all special event and fundraising campaigns for the Chapter. Work closely with the Philanthropy Committee and Philanthropy Chair to identify event chairs, recruit sponsors, sell tickets, advertise events, etc. Maintain relevant contracts, create event budgets, request proof of insurance, etc.
3. Manage all day to day finances of the Chapter including accounts payable and receivable, maintain the checkbook and do monthly banking statements. Provide reporting as needed for the Board of Directors and Jersey Coast Region. Assist in producing documentation as needed for audit purposes.
4. Manages the input of donor and gift information into Raiser’s Edge in a timely and accurate manner. Responsible for processing all donor gifts, preparing cash receipts, analyzing donor data and identifying donors with greater giving potential.
5. Works with Executive director to manage the Chapter’s direct-mail campaigns, serving as the point of entry for donors with potential capacity for Major Gifts and Planned Giving, and overseeing new direct mail implementation. Provide reporting as needed for the Board of Directors and Jersey Coast Region.
6. Research and identify prospective corporate partners. Prepare comprehensive business proposal and work with Executive Director to approach prospective partners about supporting and getting involved with the Chapter.
7. Research, identify and apply for applicable grants. Track progress, generate and submit reports for all awarded grants.
8. Works with the Executive Director to assist the Planned Giving Officer in administrative and database functions.
9. Be trained in disaster response and become a member of the Disaster Services Human Resource System (DSHR) and respond to disasters as needed. Be trained in Services to the Armed Forces (SAF) and Armed Forces Emergency Services (AFES) Web to respond to emergency military messages as needed.
10. Serve as an on call worker carrying a Chapter cell phone and pager responding to emergencies after working hours.
11. Manages and updates website content and coordinates all social networking websites (ie. Facebook).
12. Prepare and maintain disaster account records in a timely fashion. Manage accounting and auditing of Client Assistance Cards (CAC) and Disbursing Orders.
13. Back up all computers as needed.
14. Be cross trained in the duties of the Health & Safety Director and Volunteer Director.
15. Be trained in the duties of the Executive Director so the candidate may perform the Executive Director’s duties when circumstances require.
16. Performs other duties and special projects as required.
Qualifications: Education: Associates Degree required, BA preferred (Accounting, Business Administration).
Experience: Experience working with computers, bookkeeping and volunteers is preferred.
Related Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal. Must be organized and a self starter. Ability to work independently and to handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to assess client needs and provide services equitably and consistently. Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment. Knowledge of MS-Office preferred.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
