The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers to provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
- Educational Programs - We educate the public how to prevent, prepare for and respond to any type of emergency. Training programs range from treating minor cuts and burns to cardiac arrest; surviving a thunderstorm, hurricane or tornado; handling stress at work or surviving a devasting loss. These and many other courses are aimed at helping raise a awareness in our community.
- Click Here to sign up for classes! If you need assistance please call 1-800-REDCROSS.
- Disaster Response - Not only do we train our neighbors to be prepared for a disaster, but when one does occur, we respond immediately. Whether it is a fire, flood, hurricane or tornado, we are prepared to provide temporary housing to one person or to open a shelter for 100 people. We are ready with food, water and shelter when disaster strikes for any member of our community regardless of sex, race, religion, orientation or political affiliation.
- Day-to-Day Assistance - The Salem County Residents may be assisted with their day-to-day struggles, such as providing rides, free of charge, to those who need transportation to doctors' offices, hospitals, clinics or other medical treatment facilities. A medical loan closet is also available to all county residents if they are ever in need of equipment.
These are just a few of the many services that we provide to our community. The American Red Cross is run entirely on donations and 98% of the work is done by volunteers! We need your help to continue helping those in need throughout our county.
